I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
